Who writes and reviews our content
Content is drafted by the ApplianceWorth editorial team and technically reviewed by a practicing appliance repair technician. Technical pages carry a byline, a reviewer, a “last reviewed” date and the scope they apply to, so you can see who stands behind the information.
Original writing, not copied documentation
We use technical facts — code meanings, typical causes, cost ranges — but we write every page in our own words. We do not copy manufacturer service manuals, tables, images or wording. Brand and model names are used only to identify compatible products.
Safety boundaries
We separate safe checks a homeowner can perform from diagnosis that belongs to a qualified technician. We do not publish step-by-step instructions for working on energized, gas or refrigerant-carrying components for a general audience. When a code indicates a safety risk, we say so and recommend a professional.
Confidence & applicability
Appliance codes and serial-number formats differ by platform and production period, and some date codes repeat across decades. When a rule is uncertain, we show a confidence level and a model-number caution rather than presenting it as definitive. Updates & corrections
We refresh the “last reviewed” date when the substance of a page changes; cosmetic edits do not reset it. Readers can flag issues through our correction policy, and confirmed corrections are logged on the affected page.
