What an error code can tell you

An error code records a condition the appliance detected. It does not prove that a named part has failed. A drain warning, for example, needs to be interpreted alongside the machine’s symptoms and model instructions before any repair is approved. Each guide separates the code’s meaning, possible causes and checks suitable for an owner.

Get the right guide in three steps

  1. Choose the brand printed on the appliance and the correct appliance type.
  2. Copy the entire display, including letters and leading zeroes. A photograph helps with characters that look alike.
  3. Check the guide’s applicability against your full model number. Use the rating-label guide if you cannot find it.

When there is no match

Our directory covers the published guides listed above, not every model a manufacturer has made. A missing result does not mean the machine is safe to use or that a similar code is equivalent. Consult the model manual, contact the manufacturer or report the missing entry. Include the model, exact code and what happened when it appeared; leave out customer details.

For a known fault, compare planning costs and weigh repair against replacement. Those estimates cannot diagnose the appliance.
