On a double oven, F6E9 localises the fault to the lower cavity's control before anything is opened.

If it returns immediately, two boards are genuinely failing to talk, and the question becomes which — the harness between them, or one of the boards. Because the suffix already names the unresponsive end, the connector at that board is the first thing to inspect: these ovens run their communication harness through a hot cabinet, and a connector backing out or an insulation-damaged wire is both more common and far cheaper than either board. Replace a board only after the harness and its connections at both ends have been ruled out.
