What this code means

The washer detected a water-level drop or a leak-safety condition during operation. Some models automatically run the drain pump after this code appears.

Most likely causes

  • A loose internal or external hose connection
  • A leaking tub, dispenser, door boot, pump housing or drain connection
  • Excess detergent creating foam that reaches a leak sensor
  • A pressure-sensing, wiring or main-control fault

Safe checks for the owner

  1. Stop the cycle, unplug the washer and close the water valves.
  2. Inspect the floor, supply hoses, drain hose and accessible door boot for active water.
  3. Do not repeatedly reset the washer while water is appearing underneath it.

Estimated U.S. repair cost

$220–$520, depending on model, access, parts availability and local labor.
