Samsung Washer Error Codes

10 published guides for Samsung washer appliances. Check the model-specific scope before using a guide.

Samsung washer codes that need a closer look

Samsung lists 4C, 4E and nF as fill warnings; 5C, 5E and nd concern draining. Similar-looking characters can send you to the wrong repair, so photograph the display and match the full code before choosing a guide.

Two codes especially need the model manual: 3E can describe a voltage or motor problem, and dC can describe a door or an unbalanced load. The code alone does not identify a failed part.

Ur is a balancing retry message. Note whether the cycle finishes and whether it happens with one bulky item or with different loads; that distinction is useful when asking for service.

Alternate spellings are listed beside the main code when our database groups them in the same guide. They are not interchangeable on every model. Open the guide to check applicability, likely causes and owner checks; a code identifies a condition, not automatically a part to replace.

Before arranging service

Save a photo of the full code and rating label, and note when the warning appears: at startup, during operation or at the end. Tell the technician whether the appliance completes a cycle and what you already checked. This helps distinguish a recurring fault from an isolated warning.

A low severity label is not a safety clearance. If there is smoke, a burning smell, a leak near electrical parts or a gas smell, stop using the appliance and seek appropriate help. Use repair-cost ranges only after the fault is understood.
